TAC Students Innovate at LUMS Young Leaders & Entrepreneurs Summit

A Platform for Young Innovators

The Young Leaders and Entrepreneurs Summit (YLES) was held at Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) with the aim of promoting leadership, creativity, and entrepreneurial thinking among young students. Students from grades 9 to 11 actively participated in this well-organized competition, which provided them with exposure to a university-level academic and professional environment.

Innovation Through Existing Products

The theme of the competition focused on creating a new product by creatively improving or modifying already existing products. Participants worked in teams to brainstorm innovative ideas and develop unique concepts that could solve real-world problems. This task encouraged critical thinking, teamwork, and practical application of business and entrepreneurial skills.

Presentations and Judging Panel

Each team presented their product idea in front of a panel of judges, where they were evaluated on innovation, feasibility, and presentation skills. One of the judges was associated with Cadbury, which added credibility and professionalism to the event. Presenting before industry professionals helped students gain confidence and understand real business expectations.

Student Volunteers and Industry Exposure

Along with participants, several students contributed as volunteers, gaining valuable hands-on experience in event management. Candyland was among the organizations involved, where students assisted as volunteers and supported various activities during the summit. This role helped students develop communication, coordination, and leadership skills.Volunteering also gave students a behind-the-scenes view of how large-scale academic competitions are conducted, allowing them to learn responsibility and teamwork in a real setting.

A Valuable Learning Experience

The YLES competition at LUMS proved to be an enriching and inspiring experience for all involved. It enhanced students’ understanding of entrepreneurship while strengthening their confidence, creativity, and leadership abilities.Furthermore, interaction with university students, professionals, and judges broadened participants’ perspectives about higher education and future career paths.
